What's the difference between CEUs and college credits?

Edited

Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a nationally recognized method of quantifying time spent in a classroom (online or in-person) for professional development and training. CEUs provide a permanent record of continuing education for individuals who need to submit proof to their employers, unions, professional associations or licensing agencies. In addition, CEUs may be applied to a multitude of professions in order to fulfill education requirements to obtain/maintain professional certification or licensure. CEUs are not transferable as college credits.

College Credit (credit hour, credit unit) is a nationally recognized method that quantifies the value, level and time requirements of an academic course taken at the college/university level. Upon successful completion of IIN’s program, students will be able to apply the equivalent college course credits. Obtaining college credits is the best option for students looking to apply their IIN education to an undergraduate or master's degree.
